Somewhere like Mundairing Weir if they are really into seeing the bush, but don't want to go too far...and of course New Norcia, Wave Rock, the Pinnacles if they want to do day trips.

I'm always a Margaret River girl - but then I come from down that way. Pemberton is lovely too. I had friends over from UK who went on the day trip to the Pinnacles that goes over the sand dunes at Lancelin and they said thay had the most amazing experience. Especially as dolphins came out and jumped out of the ocean just as they came over the dunes. Rottnest is pretty unique.
And Fremantle is always a favourite.

I would really recommend Penguin Island - you can catch a ferry out to Seal Island and then to Penguin Island, you can spend the day there, take a picnic, see the penguins and walk around the island, go for a swim or just beach walk. It is the most magical place, just on the doorstop of a busy metro area but you could be a million miles away.
